Race : Millie's Princess Run

Distance : 5k

Date : 6/29/2013

Pre-Race Preparation : Ran about 20 miles this week

Pre-Race Thoughts : It was sooooooo HOT

Lap Length : 1.5 miles. The run was twice around Sugar House park

Running Surface : Pavement

Incline / Decline : it was a hilly course and we had to do two loops

Start Time : 8:30 am

Finish Time : 29:57

Weather  : Bright sun about 80 at the start

Pre-Race Routine : Streched

Shoes : Brooks

Socks : White cotton socks

Fluids taken during the race : I took one sip of water and dumped the rest on my head about mile 2

Energy / Calories consumed Prior to the race : I had an apple for breakfast

Energy / Calories consumed During the race : None

Sodium / Electrolytes consumed During the race : None

General Observations : It was super hot. There was over 600 runner/walkers. It was chipped timed but I can't remember my exact chip time. I got 58th women overall and I don't know the age group results yet. 

Things that worked for this event : The energy from all the others made this race really special

Things that didn’t work well for this event : I trying to drink water from a cup while running and it's so hard to do that. I have to practice drinking from a cup while running

Post-Race Recovery : Drank lots of water and took a nap with Kyle

Things to Improve for Next Time : Bring my hydration belt so its easier to drink while running

Jeremy and the boys were not at this race so I don't have any cool pictures. The last one is of me dying/stretching on the grass afterwards.

West Fest 5k

Race : West Valley West Fest

Distance : 5k

Date : 6/22/2013

Pre-Race Preparation : normal training, ate like crap the night before and got no sleep

Pre-Race Thoughts : run hard

Lap Length :

Running Surface : pavement

Incline / Decline : flat flat flat. The course was as flat as you could get

Start Time : 7:30 am

Finish Time : 28:01

Weather  : sunny and warm about 62

Pre-Race Routine : I stretched

Shoes : brooks

Socks : the socks Amy gave me for my birthday

Fluids taken during the race : none

Energy / Calories consumed Prior to the race : I ate crap the night before

Energy / Calories consumed During the race : none

Sodium / Electrolytes consumed During the race : none

General Observations : the race was well organized and started right on time. The shirts were cute. 

Things that worked for this event : the weather was perfect and it was a great course

Things that didn’t work well for this event : I forgot my armband for my phone so I had to carry my phone in my bra which was not ideal and my app decided to pause it self about mile 2 for about 20 seconds so my mileage was off on the app

Post-Race Recovery : went camping at crystal hot springs and sat in the hot springs. It felt good to soak my body

Things to Improve for Next Time : eat and sleep better the night before
